We've already configured a Metamask wallet and connected Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and Polygon networks to it in the previous section, Ethereum Mainnet is connected to Metamask by default. In this section we will top up the wallet and learn how to transfer money between networks.
We'll show the wallet top up process on the example of Binance cryptocurrency exchange. Вы можете использовать любой инструмент для пополнения аналогичным образом с учетом специфики вашей биржи.
You need some ETH tokens in your wallet to send transactions in the Ethereum Mainnet, since it is in them commissions (gas) are paid for transactions sending and interaction with smart-contracts.
Similarly, in order to be able to send transactions on the Polygon network, you need to have MATIC tokens in your wallet on the Polygon network, and BNB tokens in your wallet connected to the BSC network.
Be attentive: token sending to a wallet in a wrong network may result in a total money loss. For the novice users, we recommend to make the first top up procedure with a small amount.
BNB and MATIC tokens buying For the beginning, buy some MATIC and BNB tokens. You can do it in many ways, the easiest one is Convert section.
The average cost of a transaction on the BSC network is about $0.35, the average cost of a transaction on the Polygon network is about $0.01. Therefore, we recommend that you have BNB worth about $20 and MATIC worth about $5 in your wallet.
Sending tokens to Metamask Your Metamask wallet address is thу same for any of the networks, copy it: Go to Withdraw Crypto Binance section and send MATIC token to your Polygon wallet: Similarly, send BNB token as well as tokens you are going to stake on UNO (stablecoin USDT is used in our example) to the Binance Smart Chain wallet: Attention: when sending tokens to the Binance Smart Chain network, be sure to set the Network field to "BSC Binance Smart Chain (BEP20)"
Congratulations! The funds have been sent to the Metamask wallet and should appear in it within 1-20 minutes.
If after 20 minutes the funds are still not displayed in Metamask automatically, you can add them manually, also you can check their presence in blockchain explorers bscscan and polygonscan.
In the previous step, we replenished the wallet balance with tokens to pay for gas and sent the funds that we plan to stake in UNO to the BSC network. As it is said earlier, the current public version of UNO supports Polygon network only, therefore, we need to send the funds that we plan to stake to the Polygon network from the BSC network.
You can transfer tokens from network to network using a blockchain bridge. There are several bridge solutions on the market. In this lesson, we will use the bridge cbridge from celer.
Switch Metamask to BSC network:
Metamask will ask you to confirm the transaction several times during the process, do this
Attention: confirm transactions in services you trust only.
Wait for the result of the transaction (5-20 minutes).
Congratulations!
Your tokens have been sent from the BSC network to the Polygon network. Switch the Metamask to the Polygon network to see them. Similarly, you can send tokens back to the BSC network from the Polygon network.
We draw your attention to the fact that Metamask has a delay in automatically displaying new tokens, if after 20 minutes the funds are still not displayed in Metamask automatically, you can add them manually, also you can check their presence in blockchain explorers bscscan and polygonscan.
Go to cbridge, connect the wallet to the service and transfer tokens to Polygon network
